Drop-off, pick-up and Parking
General Policy
Parking on the school's premises is a privilege and not a right. All parents, teachers, staff, and students must adhere to the following regulations:
1) All drivers must respect the directives of the school security officers or any other school employee temporarily replacing a security guard.
2) The school is not responsible for any kind of damage caused to a vehicle while on school grounds, including collision, theft, burglary and other damage.
3) Violators of the parking lot regulations will be notified.
4) Reckless drivers will be notified by the parking attendant and will receive a written warning from the Administration.
Parking Lot Operation Hours
1) Parthenia Parking Lot:
-The parking lot is accessible from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
-The two iron gates in front of the Administration building with direct access to the school are closed from 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
2) Hayvenhurst Parking Lot:
-The parking lot is accessible in the morning from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
-The parking lot is accessible in the afternoon from 2:45 p.m. – 4:45 p.m.
Staggered Drop-off & Pick-up Schedule
In order to regulate the parking lot traffic, the school has adopted a staggered schedule, which divided the student body into three major groups (grades K&2, 1&3, 4&5). Below is the drop-off and pick-up schedule and the related guidelines.
Student drop-off and pick-up will be conducted in the Hayvenhurst parking lot, except for 2nd grade pick-up which will be from Parthenia parking lot. Siblings of 2nd grade students can also be picked up at the same time from the Parthenia parking.
For both drop-off and pick-up, you can either self-park or drive-through. During self-parking, parents will accompany their students to the iron gate located next to the soccer field. Drive-through parents will stay in the car and school personnel will assist the students in and out of the car.

Drop-off and Pick-up guidelines:
To better manage the student recesses and lunch breaks, as well as the use of cafeteria, restrooms, courtyard, playground and the faculty room, please follow the following instructions.
- Arrive at the drop-off station and make a full stop and turn the engine off,
- Please remain seated in the car, till a school employee will help the student to unload from the car and lead the student to the classroom,
- School employees will help students in grades K and 1 to handle their backpacks and lunchboxes and snacks; students in grades 3, 4, & 5 must handle the backpacks and lunch boxes on their own,
- Parents are not allowed to accompany the students to and from the classrooms,
- For any out of the ordinary drop–off and pick–up schedule, please call the office,
- It is very important that during pick-up time student name and grade level be displayed on the car dashboard,
- Left turn is not allowed at the exit gates,
- Not to arrive to the parking lot before the scheduled drop-off or pick-up times,
- Siblings can be dropped-off together within the time frame of the student who is scheduled to be dropped first,
- Siblings can be picked-up together within the time frame of the student who is scheduled to be dismissed last,
- Parents who have children riding the school bus from the North Hills Campus to the Encino campus, may decide to have their Elementary level children be supervised in the school courtyard (or cafeteria) starting at 7:30 am. This supervision service is complimentary,
Specific Regulations:
1- Speed Limit:
- The speed limit in the parking lots is 5 mph. Reckless or careless driving may lead to serious consequences and threaten the safety of the children and other pedestrians,
2- Entrances:
- Parents grades K-5 must use the Hayvenhurst entrance. This will allow the Preschool parents with very young children to use the Parthenia parking, which is closer to the Preschool classrooms,
3- Congestion:
- Parents are urged to leave the campus immediately following drop-off or pick-up of their children to allow room for the flow of traffic,
4- Parking Spaces:
- Parents are required to park their cars in the parking spaces designated and or assigned by the security officers,
5- Signs:
-Parking lot signs must be respected at all times,
-Please do not park on designated Disabled Parking spaces without proper display of a Disabled Parking Placard,
-Please do not park in designated reserved staff parking spaces,
6- Blocking:
-Please do not block neighbors' driveways,
-Please do not double-park,
-Please do not park in front of the trash bins area,
7- Street Parking:
-Please do not park on the streets immediately adjacent to the school entrances -- this will obstruct the view of other cars,
-Please do not park at the red zone marked areas and in front of the fire hydrants,
8- Child attendance:
-Please do not leave your children in the car alone. This is a major safety issue that may result in child abuse charges,
-Please do not ask the security guards to watch over your children in the parking lot. They have many other responsibilities to fulfill and are instructed not to accommodate such requests,
9- Congregating:
-Please do not socialize with other parents in the parking lots; this hinders other parents from utilizing the parking spaces for drop-off or pick-up purposes,
10- Theft:
-Please lock your cars, especially while left unattended,
-Please do not leave purses or valuables in the car,
-Please do not leave car on and running, while it is left unattended,
11- Noise:
-Honking, music, or other disruptive noise is not allowed in the parking lots or on the school grounds,
12- Littering:
-Please help the school keep the parking lots clean,
-Please do not leave fast food bags and trash in the parking lot.
13- Classroom visits:
- Parents are not allowed to enter any classroom. This is a major distraction to our children, and it deviates their attention away from instruction.
14- Early Release:
- For early pick-up, parents must wait in the office until the child is called by office personnel. Roaming around the campus is not acceptable.
15- Forgotten Items:
- Parents should not approach school personnel, including custodians, to allow them into a classroom to pick up forgotten items.
16- Promotional advertising:
-Pamphlets, announcements, or any kind of printed advertisements should not be distributed anywhere on the school grounds without permission from the Administration.
17- Smoking:
- Smoking is absolutely not permitted on campus.
18- Guest Bathrooms:
- Bathrooms in the courtyard are for student use only. Parents and guests can use the two bathrooms located at the exit gate in the Hayvenhurst parking lot.
