Attendance
Class instruction is conducted, Monday through Friday, as follows:
|
Tardiness
Students who arrive at class 1-5 minutes after 1st period started will be recorded as tardy.
Repeated tardiness will negatively affect the student’s class participation score and subsequently the overall grade.
Absence
Students who arrive at class late for more than 5 minutes after 1st period started will be recorded as absent for the first period. Repeated absenteeism will negatively affect the student’s class participation score and subsequently the overall grade. Excused absences will not affect the participation grade negatively.
Parents are encouraged to notify the school office about a scheduled absence. Absences for medical reasons documented by a licensed physician or absences for emergencies are considered excused absences. Students absent from school in excess of 15% of school days (27 days) during an academic year will repeat the grade level during the next academic year.
Early pick-up
Parents are advised to send an advance notice to the teacher and school office if a child has a pre-scheduled medical or other important appointment, which will require them to leave early. Students must be picked up at the main office.
